註：第二段歌詞為法文，意思和第一段相同。
當約翰藍儂還是高中生時，就曾邀保羅麥卡尼一起去大學舞會，當時法國文化思潮蔚為風尚，保羅麥卡尼還假裝自己是法國人，演唱歌曲時，除了幾句簡單的法文，多半以呻吟或胡謅的歌詞帶過。1965年，他們決定將那首歌曲收錄在新專輯「Rubber soul 橡皮靈魂」裡面，正好有位好友的太太是法文老師，於是他們前去請教，一起討論歌詞以及合適的韻腳等。
儘管披頭四的四位成員都不會說法文，這首夾雜英文和法文的歌曲推出後大受歡迎，連法國都拿下排行冠軍，隔年更獲得葛萊美獎年度最佳歌曲。至於歌名為何是" 蜜雪兒 "，他們表示這首歌並非獻給某位特別的女孩，純粹是名字好聽而已。
